If plastic distributors make more money off the conversion, then why do they overwhelmingly appose it?

If their breakdown is so harmless, would you eat pieces of a plastic bag?

I believe this bill would also prohibit IL municipalities from passing their own plastic bag bans or mandating fees for plastic bags (except for Chicago). If I'm right, this bill would be a mistake for IL. CA has a plastic bag recycling law and according to CalRecycle the recycling rate for regulated plastic bags in 2009 was only 3 percent.

Why would anyone bother to bring their bags BACK to the store and not just re-use them? Or better yet, bring their own reusable bags to the store if they need to remember bags.

I encourage IL citizens to research this bill and encourage a no vote.

Consumers did just fine before plastic bags appeared in the 1960's. They did not rant and rave about me, me, and my convenience blah blah. One day you will realize the world's future and our children's right to a functioning planet, not awash in the toxic dust that our plastics become in 500 years (never disappearing, there is no "away" for plastics) overrides "me", my "rights" and "freedoms" (=my convenience). We will not die, we will not suffer by bringing our own bags. Our grandparents did the same, and their grandparents. What would they think of our selfishness?
