On January 7th last year, PBBR reported about the
Maui Plastic Bag Ban. The second largest of the Hawaiian Islands, Maui is part of the state of Hawaii, USA, and is home to over 117,000 residents.
The ordinance prohibits any ‘business’ from providing plastic bags to their customers at the point of sale for the purpose of transporting groceries or other goods. So it seems the ban is not just on supermarkets.
The City of Maui has posted several articles on their website related to the ban including an F.A.Q. section. To learn more, visit the City of Maui website.
