Potential Plastic Bag Ban in Humboldt County, CA

Tuesday, November 2nd, the Board of Supervisors for Humboldt County, California will get a 15-minute presentation for a potential single-use plastic bag ban. According to the Agenda of the Regular Scheduled Meeting, the presentation will begin at 9:30 a.m.

The presentation was prepared by, and will be presented by, the local chapter of Surfrider. Known as the Humboldt Surfrider Group, the presentation will include letters of support from other groups, individuals, and other municipalities.

Along with the presentation, the group will discuss developing an ordinance and draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR). An EIR is required by the State of California before any plastic bag ban ordinance can be passed into law.
